Barbara Blackwidow (Cozies)

Barbara BlackwidowBarbara is a Cozy Mystery writer.  Her current series is The Pool Hall Mysteries, the titles are One through Fifteen.  She wants to incorporate her love of billiards into her web presence and also to establish her main character Cornelia Cuestick as a brand name.

Barbara has basic computer office skills and she would like to be able to interact with her readers. She thinks that she can build her audience through blog articles on billiards.

She elected to use Blogger (blogspot.com) because the hosting company, Google, takes care of all of the technical parts. She just needed to select a standard template from on of the many available and customize it to project her personality and meet her communications needs. Her Blogger site contains all of the basic information required for a website that we discussed in the Steve's Website article. As her audience grows, she can either expand the capabilities of her blog site or create another solution.

Barbara's blog allows people to follow her* or to subscribe to her blog via RSS/Atom syndication.

Some Recommendations:

  • register a domain name (e.g. BarbaraBlackwidow.com) and directs it to her blog site
  • create a Facebook account and a fan page
  • join 40+ networking site like eons.com
